2025 - New Year, New Horizons, New Opportunities
As I sit down to write this first newsletter of 2025, I find myself reflecting on both the journey that brought us here and the path that lies ahead. Over my 25 years+ in business, I've learned that true transformation often begins in moments of quiet reflection – those precious instances when we allow ourselves to dream bigger and reach further.
This year feels different.
Perhaps it's the inspiring partnership we've forged with The Nasio Trust or maybe it's the launch of our new website, - both have reinforced my belief that when we combine ideas from our head and heart with purposeful action, remarkable things happen. Or maybe it's simply because I am different, I have changed, and my view of the world continues to evolve.
For 2025, I've gone back to using the tools that initially helped me when I was struggling to get clarity for the year, and have developed a Goal Map for ELMER with three core intentions: to deepen our impact through meaningful partnerships, to nurture more authentic and conscious leaders, and to ensure that everything we do at ELMER creates lasting, positive change.
As I mapped these goals for the year, I felt creative, inspired and ambitious. I have not always felt this way, but through coaching and mentoring, reading and working with some fantastic individuals, life seems a bit clearer these days.I appreciate not everyone likes the word 'goals', or even 'aspirations', but I encourage you to find the word that supports you in leading your life with purpose, kindness and love - it really isn't a load of old mumbo jumbo - just visualising where you want to be in 12 months can have a profound impact on you and the life you lead.
This reminds me of one of my favourite moments from Love Actually (which I rewatched over Christmas), where Hugh Grant says, "Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport... General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere." Just as love manifests in countless ways at that arrivals gate, our ambitions and dreams can take many forms.
What matters isn't the word we use, but the heart and intention we bring to shaping our future. I invite you to join me in making 2025 a year of thoughtful ambition and purposeful action.
Whether you're stepping into your first leadership role or building on years of experience, remember that every great achievement starts with a clear vision and an open heart.

Making a Difference: Our Partnership with The Nasio Trust
We're proud to announce our partnership with The Nasio Trust, an impactful UK-registered charity and Kenyan NGO making a profound difference in Kakamega County, Kenya. Through their focused work on education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods, Nasio supports orphaned and vulnerable children whilst empowering communities to break the cycle of poverty.
Their 2023 achievements include:Supporting over 300 vulnerable and orphaned children through educationTreating 28,500 patients at their medical centreReaching 4,000 people through their Peer Education ProgrammeSupporting over 1,000 small-scale farmers and their householdsFor every organisation that partners with ELMER through 2025, we'll make a contribution to support The Nasio Trust's vital work.
